Venturing into the SSENSE sale is like navigating a maze. The 300+ pages taunt you with their daunting endlessness, tempting you to give up early and hope to find something nice within the first five pages. I combed through the first 20 pages to pick out standout pieces that would enhance any wardrobe. If you’d like me to continue with the next 20 pages or if you have a preference for shoes or accessories, just let me know—I’m happy to spend the time to make you happy.
When it comes to a sale, I have two approaches to finding pieces. The first is to use it as an opportunity to step out of my style comfort zone and expand my palette. It’s the perfect time to pick a piece I wouldn’t ordinarily buy at full price, allowing me to flex my styling muscles and go beyond my usual boundaries. The second approach is to invest in wardrobe basics and buy timeless pieces. With these strategies in mind, please find below the pieces that stood out to me the most. Enjoy!
Wardrobe Basics
Starting with the Our Legacy dress, it perfectly fits the brief of an elevated basic. The asymmetric hem and criss-cross strap detail elevate it beyond your average black dress, making it versatile enough to be dressed up or down with the right shoes.
The Ganni knit polo comes in a perfect almost-yellow color, bringing a lightness to your winter wardrobe. Its sleeveless design allows for playful layering, offering endless styling possibilities.
Open YY features heavily on this list because their pieces always have a dynamic edge. The cargo skirt, in its khaki-grey color, offers a more vibrant take on a neutral piece. The oversized pockets add an excellent detail, making it a wardrobe must-have. Their blue jeans, with a washed yellow tone, put a unique twist on typical jeans, perfect for personalizing a t-shirt and jeans outfit. Lastly, their pinstripe pants spoke directly to my soul. As a lover of casual pieces with a smart edge, these pinstripe cargo trousers are the ideal blend. The pinstripe detail makes them suitable for more formal occasions when paired with a blazer and shirt, while the cargo elements keep them perfect for a night out. Talk about getting more bang for your buck (sorry)!
The Frankie Shop is a haven for elevated basics, and if you ever see their blazers on sale, I highly recommend picking one up. The taupe color adds lightness to your winter wardrobe, while the oversized silhouette is a signature feature that adds an attractive masculine statement. Paired with a slinky dress and strappy heels, it creates a juxtaposition that makes for a more interesting look.
This Entire Studios fluffy jacket is the definition of a conversation starter. With its dropped shoulders, oversized silhouette, and fleece texture, it's the perfect piece to throw on when your outfit is more functional than fashionable. It’s a surefire way to beat the winter blues because looking good always lifts your spirits, right?
Fun Items
This GUIZO dress is the perfect Barbie pink number to wear on a girls night out. I love the bow details on the dress as well as the scalloped hems of the straps, which give it that lingerie feel. It is a dress that you won’t reach for often but makes the perfect flirty tool in your wardrobe.
The second fun item is the Jean Paul Gaultier body tattoo bikini, which needs no introduction or explanation. Would it make sense ate full price? Absolutely not, but is it a fun piece to get if you save 37%? Yeah, why not? Life is short! This humorous bikini makes a statement and allows you to fit right in to most European topless beaches on your Euro summer.
Both
First up is the Wolford cut-out maxi dress. A Wolford dress is a timeless addition to your wardrobe, perfect for a nice dinner or a third date where you want to make your intentions clearly known. The cut-out details add personality and make this a fun, effortless piece to wear.
I already featured a Frankie Shop blazer above, but this pink version is irresistible. This blush pink is a perfect way to stick to your comfort zone with a smart, tailored piece but add your own flair by opting for a more out there colour. You can really flex your styling muscle with this piece and surprise yourself with how much more your wardrobe can offer you.
Paris Georgia pieces are always on my wishlist, and this brown camisole is a must-have. The unique neckline adds more interest than a typical camisole, and its sturdy feel ensures longevity in your wardrobe. It pairs perfectly with jeans or a silk skirt, offering effortless style.
Last but certainly not least, are these Collina Strada trousers. With their wide-leg cargo design and flower print, they are a breath of fresh air. The blend of feminine print and rugged cargo pant creates a pair of trousers you'll reach for again and again.
I hope you enjoyed my selections and were inspired to venture past the 20th page. Again, if you want an edit of the shoes in the sale, let me know, and I would be more than happy to share!
