This is such an interesting read about a style that is so beautiful, and identity, and it’s so beautifully written, too. Your 13 year old self would be proud.
I really enjoyed reading this because I identify so much with the struggle between wanting to have a clean girl aesthetic but also wanting to express my mood and my culture and my history through my style. I tend to go back and forth between wanting really vibrant statement pieces that I see incredible black women donning so elegantly and effortlessly and then going back to these clean girl aesthetic quiet luxury outfits and I struggle to decide which one I want when in all honesty I want them both!

Thanks so much!
Wow this was really good!
Thanks!
Culture erasure is so real. Even for people like me who are in the ethnic majority in our country, which still has post colonial hang ups.
