Welcome to the first edition of the Moresque Black Book. After my paid subscriber launch a few weeks ago, I have been thinking about this tier and have decided to pivot from my original offering. Being human is being adaptable and when I thought more closely on the value offering of this newsletter, I decided to leverage my above average screen time, and make the Black Book editions of Moresque a curated list of the things I come across during my window shopping sessions. These will mostly be vintage items that range from clothing, shoes and accessories to home or miscellaneous. To give you an idea of how varied I will get, I have a vintage doll saved for my next one.
This week’s post will be free to showcase the feel of this new tier and you really don’t want to miss any future posts. One thing I do well is vintage sourcing, trust me. Keep reading to see what I uncovered this week!
Oscar De La Renta jacket: I can imagine the person wearing this looking sophisticated and chic as they take a drag of their cigarette outside a fancy restaurant.
Veronica Beard jacket: This is the jacket you wear to a pilates class with leggings to remind everyone in the changing room that, like the french, you wouldn’t typically be caught dead in activewear.
Oscar De La Renta brown leather pumps: Instead of leaning in to the girlification of bows, this is how you make them sexy. These bows have lived life. These bows have ordered an Uber at 3am from a man’s house.
Henri Bendel animal print clutch: The size of this is comical with it more closely resembling a coin purse more than a functional bag. However, that is the point. There is no denying your aversion to paying on the first (read: any) date when you step out with this by your side.
Rafael Sanchez wooden purse: The egg-like silhouette is aesthetically pleasing and carrying this as a clutch with the tassel hanging off the side gives off an intoxicating air of sophistication from the wearer that is hard to replicate otherwise.
Antique sterling silver fish brooch: I have been loving a fish brooch recently, specifically one with a more skeletal, structural feel to it as it feels Schiaparelli adjacent (a girl can dream).
I hope you enjoyed this week’s version of the black book! I had two extra links that didn’t make it into this post that will be featured in the paid subscriber chat (one is a Junya Watanabe dress for under £150…) so upgrade to paid to get access to these links. Speak to you soon!
I may earn some commission if you make a purchase using the links above. Happy shopping!
